A Scary Thing

A scary thing it is

To ponder

Darkness and light.

To consider the dark images of the thoughts of this world

Compared to the light God provides.

“And God said 'Let there be light' and there was light.”

“...and the light came into the world!”

Hawking, the great physicist, concluding that

God is not necessary to creation.

Ray Kurzweil in “The Singularity is Near...”

Proposing a time when humans transcend biology

And increase their capability to think and to collaborate

By orders of magnitude

At an ever increasing rate.

Stephen Baker in his book, “The Numerati”

Thinking of how business, government, and politics

Seek to control, and manipulate,

To their personal benefit,

The minds, yes the hearts, of the people.

I see in Van Gogh's work

-In his life-

The force of these thoughts.

Yet I see, in the starry - starry night

The light.

“God is not dead

Nor does He sleep”

Even in the hopelessness of a starless night

Morning will come.

The light of Gods love is not quenched by darkness!

There is no dark ray that can cancel out the light!

Rather, when they meet, Darkness and Light, Light illuminates Darkness

And Darkness is no more.

It is the light of His love we all need!

It is that hope to which I cling.
