A
Train Full of Words
I
sent a train full of words to my friend.
I
hope the boxcars of words
Meant
the same when they were received
As
I thought they meant when they were sent.
Sometimes
the train full of words I sent
Are
hardly recognizable, even to me,
When
I see them again.
I
hope my friend interprets me kindly.
I
hope my friend finds strength,
And
hope, and truth, and peace
In
the train full of words
I
sent.
I
hope my fiend is able to overlook
And
ignore the words
I
sent in error of heart
And
of mind - And of purpose.
There
was one part of the train that was empty.
It
would have contained the words
I
could not speak.
Those
words I would not speak.
It
would have contained the words
I
should have spoken -
It
would have contained the words
Not
yet in my vocabulary
-
- -
Words
that meant what I meant
But
knew not how to say.
It
would have contained the words
My
heart would have spoken - Had my heart the words.
